Zina Marie (Spencer) Hughes, 64, of Mancelona died peacefully in her sleep at home, surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, October 29, 2017.

She was born January 6, 1953 in Pontiac to Lynn and Mildred (Perry) Spencer.

On April 25, 1970 she married Bill Hughes in Alba, Michigan. During their first 18 years of marriage they traveled from coast to coast with the U.S. Army before making their home in Mancelona.

Zina enjoyed camping, gardening, baking, time with grandkids, playing cards, watching "The Waltons" and "Little House on the Prairie," crossword puzzles and Christmas.

Surviving are her husband Bill, children James Hughes of Ionia, Melissa (Dan) Christenson of Otsego, Connie (Chris) Thompson of Mancelona, Nancy (Ryan) Parsons of Traverse City, Kristina Roy and her fiance Addam Rosenberg of Mancelona, Christopher (Amy) Hughes of Mancelona; grandchildren Logan, Destiny, Alycia, Gavin, Darren, Autumn, Jayden, Annabelle, Daniel, Tanner, Alexander, Santiago, Adrian, Lucus, Ruby, Jaden, Ethan, Conner, Morgan, Justen and Emersyn; foreign exchange grandkids Tiffany Lo and Mia Popp; and her brother Paul (Bridgett) Spencer. Zina was preceded in death by her son Billy Hughes, parents Lynn and Mildred Spencer, and sister Lynda Callesen and brother Ward Spencer.

A celebration of Zina's life will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the Antrim Church of Christ in Mancelona with the Rev. Celia M. Hastings officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bill Hughes.
