Yvonne Howard

Howard, Yvonne,  L., age 83, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility, Bellaire, MI, due to complications from Alzheimer's.

Yvonne was born on February 18, 1934 in Central Lake, MI to Gleason and Letitia (Purdy) Scott.

Yvonne spent most of her life in Sparta, MI where she and her husband, John, raised their family.  In 1996, John and Yvonne moved to a new home in Mancelona, MI where they spent 14 years together until Yvonne was placed into Meadow Brook.  Before being stricken with Alzheimer's, Yvonne enjoyed baking, bowling, fishing, snowmobiling and playing cards with friends and family.

Her husband, John, passed away on June 5, 2013.  Also preceding her in death were two infant sons, her parents, brothers Gleason, Bruce, Charles, Willard, Ralph, and William and several sisters-in-law.

Yvonne is survived by her sons, Ron (Mancelona, MI), Brian (Sparta, MI), Glenn (Ann) Kent City, MI; daughter, Laura (Mike) Kinross, MI; 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter arriving near Valentine's Day 2018; sister, Sonya (Don) Olds; brothers Jack and Albert (Linda); several sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Meadow Brook, especially those at Lakeshore Cottage, for the love, kindness, and care given to Yvonne and her family during her time there.

Visitation with the family will be on Sunday, December 17, 2017 from 2 to 6 pm at the funeral home.  Funeral will take place on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 11 am at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Coldsprings Township Cemetery, Mancelona, MI, in the spring of 2018.
