William Schulz

William E. Schulz Sr., 87, passed away on May 14, 2015, and leaves behind Betty, his wife of 57 years; four children, Kelly (Keith Bleyer), Heidi (Kevin Carnahan), William Jr. and Robert; and four grandchildren, Evan, Lauren Bleyer, Blake and Brooke Carnahan. William was a graduate of University of Michigan with three degrees; a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, a masters in automotive engineering, and a MBA William also served as a second lieutenant during the Korean War. William worked in as an engineer in the automotive industry before he left to become a general contractor. He created and ran two companies; W. E. Schulz Co. and Schulz Custom Homes. He loved spending time with his family and friends. William enjoyed sailing and working on his many projects. He was always challenging himself through crossword and other puzzles, even going back to school at the age of 75 to learn how to cook. The viewing will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church, 11906 US-31 Charlevoix, MI 49720, on Tuesday at 10 a.m. and the service will be held at 11 a.m. with a funeral procession to Antrim City Cemetery on Old Dixie Highway, south of Rex Beach Road, followed by a luncheon at Friske Orchards Farm Market, 10743 N.US- 31, Ellsworth, MI 49729.
