William Randall

William David Randall of the Ellsworth/Central Lake area died peacefully at Georgia House in Charlevoix , Michigan on May 29, 2017.

Bill was born to Norman and Luells Randall on June 14, 1943, in Sparta, Michigan. He was a third generation fruit and dairy farmer in Casnovia Township, Muskegon County. Bill was the happiest when he could farm twelve or more hours a day. He was known as an expert farmer, and taught his children the value of hard work.

In 1987 Bill and his family moved to Ellsworth in Northern Michigan. There he continued his passion for agriculture.

Bill was an avid reader and ,being highly intelligent, was a master of trivia. There were few subjects on which he wasn't able to carry on a knowledgeable conversation. He was a dedicated Tiger fan, asking about scores even until a week before his death.

Bill was a family man and would do anything for each of them. .Bill's survivors include his wife Betsy Smith Randall; his children: Chris and Kandi Randall, Erich and Rhonda Randall, Molly and Tim Jarema, and Matt and Casey Randall; grandchildren: Cody and Erin, Chelsea and Colton, Chance, Collin, Mandy, Kayleigh, Hanna, Maggie, Billy, AddieAnn, and Thale; great grandchildren: Aurora, Flecher, and Kyra.

Bill was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Boyne City.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 31st, from 4:00 - 7:00pm at Hastings Funeral Home in Ellsworth. Services will be at the Christ Lutheran Church in Boyne City on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowerss, family members request memorial contributions to Ellsworth FFA, Georgia House of Charlevoix, or Christ Lutheran Church.
