William Postlewait

WILLIAM "Bill" POSTLEWAIT, 79, of Mancelona, died peacefully among his family at home on October 5, 2009. William was born June 19, 1930 in Algonac, MI. to William M. Postlewait and Lillian Martin. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Nancy, his parents, sisters, Elsie Watson, Bernice Rydel, Violet Durrett and brother Glen Gapen. Surviving are a sister Betty Stewart of Mancelona, MI., a brother Robert Postlewait of Lewiston, MI. William was originally from Troy, MI., working as a metal fabricator at Gallagher and Kaiser in Detroit and moved to Mancelona in 1971 where he started Troy Builders. Also surviving are a son and four daughters. Chris Postlewait of Kalamazoo, Diana Patterson of Gaylord, Cynthia Paulsell of Rochester, Laura Derror of Mancelona and Catherine Postlewait of Gaylord. William was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He will be remembered as a hard worker, devoted business man and father. Funeral services will take place on Thur., Oct. 8 at Eleven a.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Interment Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona.
