William K. Good, 87 of Central Lake, died peacefully, Thurs. Mar. 14, 2013, at home with his daughters and wife at his side. He was born Feb. 15, 1926, in Pontiac, the son of William and Barbara (Polson) Good. Bill graduated from Henry Ford Trade School and proudly served in the US Navy during World War II on the USS Swanson. He owned and operated Koppy Tool & Die in Ferndale for 30 years. On Aug. 16, 1947, he married the love of his life, Virginia Morlan. Upon retirement they moved north to Eastport and enjoyed an active lifestyle. Bill was a proud member of the Eastport Chowder and Athletic Society and on the Torch Lake Township Board for many years. He was also instrumental in preserving land for all to enjoy on the lake he loved by creating the William K. Good Day Park in the Village of Torch Lake. Bill was active in the spurring of the renovation of the Antrim County court house. Bill was generous and kind with a great sense of humor. He taught his daughters to be strong, independent women and love unconditionally. They adored him. He is survived by his wife Virginia of 66 years, his daughters Sharon (Bill) Dean of Bellaire, Suzanne (Charley) Good-Grimes of West Bloomfield, Dr. Kyle (Barney O'Hara) Good of Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, Meg Good of Bozeman, Montana, grandson Klay (Kelly) Dean, granddaughter Chelsea Grimes, granddaughter Keelan OHara, grandson Liam O'Hara, grandson Frank Caruso III, granddaughter Carla Caruso, and great grandson Chase Dean. Preceding him in death were his parents, sisters Barbara Maule and Mary Elizabeth Good. No services are planned at this time. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Michigan, 2220 W.
