William DeWitt

William C. DeWitt, 84 of Elmira passed away Monday, September 22, 2014 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility. Born on December 14, 1929, William was the son of William and Ada DeWitt. William resided in Northern Michigan since 1993. He helped found the Sportsman's Committee at Lakes of The North. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. William is survived by his children, Michael W. (Julie) DeWitt of Gaylord, Joseph A. (Sheila) DeWitt of New Hampshire and William C. (Kathy) DeWitt of Taylor; granddaughters, Leah Therese and Rebecca Lynn; a brother, Leonard DeWitt, a sister, Helen Smith; several nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa in July 2012. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 4th at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 525 Weiss Road, Gaylord, MI 49735.
