William “Bill” Charles Curtis, 68, of Petoskey passed away on Thursday July 18, 2019. He was born on January 11, 1951 in Bellaire, MI, the son of William and Roberta (Clark) Curtis.
On March 20, 1971, Bill married the love of his life, Diana Malak. They have spent the last 48 years together in Northern Michigan raising their family. In recent years, they have had the privilege of spending time with their grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bill was a very intelligent man, as well as a very active man who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and he loved sports. He liked baseball and hockey, but his favorites were golf and bowling, as evidenced by the fact that he was on the bowling team in Boyne City for 23 years. He also enjoyed trips to Colorado with his wife to attend a John Denver memorial, as well as trips to Canada to go fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Diana Curtis; a daughter, Holly (Dan) Williams of Petoskey; a son, William (Lauri) Curtis of Wyoming; two sisters, Shawn (Larry) Hamilton of Charlevoix, and Shannon (Jason) Fields of Charlevoix; and twelve grandchildren, Charles Shaw, Skylar Curtis, Tina Slewinski, William Curtis, Todd Rabine, Olivia Curtis, Lily Curtis, Justin Williams, Allison Williams, Darick Himebauch, Zachary Himebauch, and Tyler Himebauch; and two great grandchildren, Aiden Curtis, and Vara Beglen-Shaw.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Dawn Slater.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2019 at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes, 2333 S. Main St. Central Lake, MI 49622.
