William L. Conway, 88, of Mancelona, passed away on August 7, 2019.
Bill was born on February 15, 1931, in Mancelona, the son of John and Margaret (Boroff) Conway.
Bill was born and raised in Mancelona , then went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in the 1st Calvary.
He was employed by the Dura Corporation for 45 years as an electrician. He liked to hunt, fish, travel, flower gardening and playing cribbage.
He is survived by a son William Conway of Mancelona, 2 step-children, David (Karen) Wilks of Bellaire, Curtis (Karen) Wilks of Adrian, a brother Bernard Conway of Mancelona, sister Barbara Marshall of Bellaire, his beloved cat Tiffany as well as 6 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren,
He was preceded in death by his first wife Tony Conway, second wife Barb Conway, a step-daughter, Pam Allen, 2 sisters, Beatrice Lockery, Betty Guyette, and 3 brothers, John, Jim and Ron Conway as well as his parents.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mancelona United Methodist Church with Pastor Ross Corne officiating.
Military honors will take place immediately following services at the church.
He will be buried in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Home in Petoskey or the Mancelona American Legion.
Arrangements are being handled by the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
