William (Bill) Bush, 81, of Blue Lake Township, Kalkaska County, passed away peacefully in his lazy boy on June 1, 2015. Bill was born in Muskegon and grew up in Fremont. A member of the FFA, he intended to be a farmer. Life took him on a different path when he met his future wife and love of his life, Sandra, at age 18. After serving in the U.S. Army, Bill followed Sandra to Chicago, married her in Miami Beach in 1958 and spent many wonderful years as a loving husband and father and working as a Tool and Die Maker and then project engineer at Braun Engineering in Detroit. Bill and Sandra retired to Blue Lake Township, their beloved "up north" and enjoyed his retirement years golfing, tinkering and spending time with good friends. Through his last years after Sandra died, he always kept his beautiful smile, sparkling, mischevious eyes and love for his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all that were fortunate to know him. Surviving are 2 daughters, Valorie (Scott) Vincent of Laguna Beach, CA, Tracy Wiseman of Grand Ledge, MI, a granddaughter Victoria Vincent of Laguna Beach, CA, a brother Bob (Mary) Bush of Raleigh, NC., and a sister-in-law, Eva Stevens of Traverse City. He was preceded in death by his wife Sandra, a brother John Bush as well as his parents. There will be a visitation gathering for family and friends on Friday, June 5, 2015 from 5-7 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Military honors will take place at 7:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.
