William Babbitt

William O. Babbitt, 90, of Kalkaska, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2011. William was born and raised in Grayling on April 7, 1921 the son of Carl and Jessie Babbitt. He was a World War II Veteran. He loved to hunt, fish and spend time in the woods. He is survived by two children, Sandra Lee (Duane) Bader of Howell, MI., and William Gary (Carol) Babbitt of Mio, MI; several grand and great-grand children. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Eleanor (Stetter) Babbitt and son Robert Carl Babbitt. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 11 a.m. at St. Matthews Lutheran Church with Rev. Donald Ritter officiating. The burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, June 3, 2011 from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
