Will Lockhart Jr. 63, of Lansing, MI, passed away Sunday June 8, 2014 at the Colonial Woods Senior Living Community in Lansing, MI following a long illness.
He was born in Marks, Mississippi on September 17, 1950, the son of Pearl White and Will Lockhart, Sr.
He lived much of his adult life in Central Lake, MI where he was a longtime employee of the De-Sta-Co Corporation and Victories Casino in Petoskey, MI. Following his retirement in 2003, he lived the remainder of his life in Lansing, MI surrounded by his loving family.
He was known as a charismatic and charming man, and made many friends throughout his life. He was full of pride for his family, including his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by 4 children, Shana (John) Kingma of Petoskey, Damian (Jill) Lockhart of Grand Rapids, Jamal and Jeremiah Lockhart of Bellaire, and grandchildren Lily, Collin and Jaxon Kingma, Aiden and Avery Elsenheimer, and Lincoln and Cruz Lockhart. He is also survived by his brothers Ed L. Vaden and John E. Lockhart and sisters Willie B. Durant, Augusta Miller and Gorga A. Hamilton as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Limmie Lockhart and Raymond Lockhart, sisters Ora M. Vaden, Alice Knox and Panola o. Lockhart-Morrell and daughter, Dhana (Lockhart) Elsenheimer.
A memorial service will take place on Tuesday June 17, 2014 at 12 noon at the Riley Funeral Home in Lansing, MI.
