Wayne Potter,  64, of Central Lake, passed away on August 18, 2019 at Munson Medical Center.

Wayne was born on June 15, 1955 the son of Fred Wayne and Janet (Barber) Potter.

Wayne was a 1974 graduate of Central Lake High School and went on following graduation to work for the East Jordan Iron Works for over 40 years, recently retiring in 2018.

Wayne loved fishing, traveling, attending the sporting and special events of all his children and grandchildren and spending time with his beloved dog Daisey.

On March 16, 2001 in Bellaire, he married Wanda Comstock who survives.  Also surviving are 6 children, Wayne (Marcy) Potter of Elk Rapids, Tina Potter Viszmeg of Bellaire, Bill (Katrell) Morgan of Springfield, IL, Richard Comstock of Monroe City, MO, Clifford Holland of Central Lake, Samual Potter of Central Lake, 5 grandchildren, Kerry and Vincent Viszmeg both of Bellaire, Saevill and Rashawn Morgan, of Springfield, IL,  Malaki Comstock of Monroe City, MO, a  great-granddaughter Julianna Viszmeg of Bellaire, 4 siblings, Darline Wilson of Central Lake, James (Cindy) Potter of Central Lake, Tim (Lori) Potter of Bellaire, Nate (Hope) Wolverton of Coldwater, MI, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Nick Potter and a sister Phyliss Potter.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, August 22, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at  the Grace Community Church in Central Lake.  Pastor Gary Bekkering will officiate.

Burial will follow in Southern Cemetery, Central Lake Township.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Lake Chapter of Alcoholics Anonymous.
