Warren Lockwood

WARREN E. LOCKWOOD, 81, of Mancelona, died on June 6, 2010 at his home. Warren was born on January 16, 1929 in South Haven, MI., the son of Ward and Iva (Tyler) Lockwood. Warren was a resident of Mancelona for the past 20 years and formerly lived in Charlevoix. He served in the U.S. National Guard, volunteered at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility and enjoyed hunting, car racing, gardening, music, especially playing the violin and mandalin. He is survived by 4 children, Naomi Soliday of Shreveport, LA., Marie (Ralph) Bailey of Hartford, MI., Chyrell (Thomas) Sexton of Covert, MI., Nancy (John) Jones of Hesperia, MI., 12 step-children, Marien, Monty, Maudy, Martha, Gary, Bobby, Donny, Lorna, Mary, Rita, Don, Cindy, a sister Ruby French of South Haven, MI., 13 grandchildren, many step-grandchildren and a long time companion Arlene Vahovick of Mancelona. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Linnie Elizabeth Perry, second wife Martha Young, a sister Roberta Lockwood and a grandson Samuel Tyler Gray. Funeral services will take place on Friday, June 11, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Visitation will take place from noon until the time of services.
