Walter Zimmer

Walter "Jack" Zimmer, 91 passed away peacefully in the early morning of May 18th, 2017. Jack raised his family in Grand Rapids and Ada, before retiring upstate to be closer to his family in Bellaire. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Burdina "Dede" Zimmer. Jack is also survived by his two daughters Karen (Robert C.) Witzel and Kim (Allen C.) Weary. He was also blessed with five grandchildren, Kelly (Nathan) Nasimento, Jamie (Glen) Harrington, Rachel Weary, Max Weary, and Jake Weary, as well as seven great-grandchildren, Sophia, Jack, Caden, Isabelle, Quinn, and Oliver. "We will never forget your contagious laugh! We will hear it often as we remember the many memories of a wonderful life spent with you! Give mom a big squeeze from us! We love ya Pa". The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Samaritas in Traverse City for the care and respect he received while there. He was well loved by you all. Burial with Military Honors will take place Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Cascade Charter Township Cemetery, 7200 30th St., Grand Rapids.
