Walter Harty Jr

WALTER E. HARTY JR., 66, of Mancelona, died on November 20, 2009 at Munson Medical Center. Walter was born on May 11, 1943 in Detroit, the son of Walter Sr. and Virginia (Keillor) Harty. Walter grew up in Ellsworth where he attended High School. Walter was a Mancelona resident for the past 10 years and was employed by Moeke Lumber. He enjoyed fishing and cats. On February 5, 1965 in Charlevoix, he married Sharon K. Musser who survives. Also surviving are 4 children, David (Amy) Harty of Traverse City, Kim (John) Younes of Sterling Heights, Michael Harty, Rose (Lenny) Osinski of Marlette as his mother Virginia Harty of Bellaire and 2 grandchildren, Ashley and Tyler Osinski. He was preceded in death by his father Walter Harty Sr. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009 at Two p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Pastor Mark McCool will officiate. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona. Visitation will take place on Mon. from 6-8 p.m. also at the funeral home.
