Walter Chester Franczek had an early morning tee time with our Lord on January 1st, 2021.
He is proceeded in death by his wife Mary Kane, his father Fredrick Franczek, Sr., mother Sabina (Betty) Franczek, brother Fredrick Franczek Jr., and grandson Brooks Franczek. He leaves behind his daughter Sally Franczek (Liebertz), son Scott Franczek, daughter-in-law Holly O’Brien, three grandchildren Brandon, Elizabeth, Alexander, and two great grandchildren Theo and Isabell.
Born April 4th, 1941 in Muskegon, Michigan Walt graduated from Catholic Central HS, and married Nancy Robarge on November 24, 1962. Walt went on to complete his degree in Environmental Health from Ferris State University in 1962-63. He retired after 36 years of serving as an Environmentalist for the Antrim County Health Department. He was later inducted into the Ferris State Hall of Fame for his outstanding dedication and passion for golf. Most of us will remember Walt for his showmanship on the golf course, and his true love for the game!
Walt lived his life to the fullest and was surrounded by a loving community of friends and family. A celebration of life for Walt will be in the spring (Date TBD).
