Vivian Blasdell

Vivian S. Blasdell died peacefully on April 7, 2016 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital. Born March 22, 1928 in Seattle, WA to Roy and Lois Holm. She graduated from Williamston High School, MI. She met the love of her life in Denver, CO in 1948, she then married Russell B. Blasdell on March 19th 1949. They were happily married for 61 years.

Her focus was on her husband and children. She helped her husband with the training of horses and taking care of the farm. They spent time training in Montana, Salt Lake City, UT, and Las Vegas, NV, they then moved to Bellaire, MI in 1964, and continued to train and board horses.

She enjoyed many hobbies including oil painting; she was an avid reader and traveler.

She was preceded in death by her husband Russell Blasdell, her sister Ruth Abbott, and her good friend Helen Derenzy.

She will be greatly missed by her 4 children, Diana Blasdell of Bellaire, Byron (Pat) Blasdell of Charlevoix, Sharon Blasdell of Charleston, SC and Ann (Scott) Miller of Boyne City, 6 grandchildren Jared Blasdell of Sandyston, NJ, Jacob Blasdell of Las Vegas, NV, Sharayah Dow of Charleston, SC, Zellie "Anthony" Dow Jr. of St. Louis, MO, Kathleen and Zack Miller of Boyne City and 3 great-grandchildren.
