Virginia Jean “Ginger”(Russell) Bischoff, 68, of Charlevoix, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2015,peacefully after long health struggles at her home. She was born December 7, 1947, in Charlevoix to Walter (Pug) and Marjorie (Engelhart) Russell. Ginger attended Charlevoix High School.
Ginger was a warm and loving wife, mother,grandmother, and friend who was there for everyone who came into her life.
She worked for Char-Em Intermediate School District as a teacher's aid and in transportation for exceptional children. Ginger was there for twenty years. Her students were the love of her life. During her summers she trained for massage therapy, and then established her own business and began working as a massage therapist. Ginger owned Therapeutic Massage of Charlevoix and was a massage therapist for twenty years.
On April 26, 1986, she married Robert C. Bischoff in Charlevoix. She is survived by Robert; her children, Pat (Allison) Hamlin of Manistique, and Danielle (Ryan) Clark of East Jordan; step-daughter, Angie Bischoff of Onaway; grandchildren, Madalaine and Kayla Clark, Morgan and Connor Hamlin, Jordan, John, Jacob, and Jared Burridge;great-grandson Riot Heise, sister, Jackie Russell of New York state; brother, Carney (Jeanette) Russell of Petoskey. Ginger was preceded in death by her brother Walter Russell.
A memorial service will be 3:30 pm, Monday, December 21, at the Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix where visitation will begin at 2:00 pm. The Reverend David Behling will officiate.
