Virginia Lee LaPointe

Virginia Lee LaPointe, 87 of Central Lake, passed away December 19, 2023 at home.  She was born Aug. 5, 1936 in Lincoln Park the daughter of Thomas A. Sherosky and Mary P. Kutvas, and grew up in Wyandotte.

   Virginia was a devoted and loving mother.  She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends too.  She was active in the outdoors roller skating, roller blading, and running even into her mid 70’s.  Virginia enjoyed spending time in her garden. She was spunky and enjoyed dancing too.   She worked with her sons at BNH Machines in Mancelona as an accountant from 1994until retiring in 2015.

   At the young age of 11, she met the love of her life, Henry J. LaPointe.  On Aug. 9, 1958 they married and this year they celebrated 65 years of marriage. 

   Left to cherish her memory is her husband Henry, her children Rodney (Cindy) LaPointe of Bellaire, Charles A. (Mary) LaPointe of Central Lake, Andrew (Jennifer) LaPointe of Elk Rapids, Cheri’ (Zef) LaPointe of Taylor, daughters in-law Kris LaPointe of Bellaire and Kim LaPointe of Brownstown, brother Thomas (Theresa) Sheroski, grandchildren Steven, Adam, Eric, Chandra, Nathan, Zachary, Tara, Danielle, Luke, Sebastian, Alexander, Isabella, Chad, Kalee, Ryan, Alena, Elizabeth, Samantha, 11 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. 

   She was preceded in death by her children Ronnie LaPointe, Rosella (Joe) Tomassi, Thomas M. LaPointe, Michael J. LaPointe, Shannon Hampton, and 9 brothers and sisters. 

   No services are planned at this time.  Interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona in the spring.
