Virginia “Gale” White of Kewadin, was born September 1, 1940, to Robert F. White and Byrnece M. Nelson White.
She died peacefully on January 20, 2024, at home with family.
Gale was a gifted artist and had a recognizable, eccentric flare for fashion. The brighter
the better! She loved and cared for many animals and had a heart for any in need. She also
loved people fiercely. Gale had no children of her own, but cared for countless others. Anyone
who came to the house more than once was treated like family, especially children.
Gale was well known for passing out full bags of candy on Halloween, and scrumptious
popcorn balls at Christmas. She ran a close second to her sister Margaret for homemade bread,
but took a clear first for her amazing cinnamon rolls. Those near and dear had to look out for her
infamous Cure-All Soup.
In conversation, Gale was a compassionate advocate for the people and animals she
loved. She always expressed her sincere gratitude for the help others provided her in later
years. And Gale could knock your socks off with the wild tales of her youth!
Gale was preceded in death by her father, her mother, and brother Tom. She is survived
by sisters Kay (Fred) Vermeersch, Margaret (Al) Mowers, Jane (Jack) Howard; nephew Mark
(Missy) White; nieces Victoria Van, Patricia (Rodney) Donaldson, Christen (Scott) Korstange,
and many great nieces and nephews. She was loved and will be missed by all.
A celebration of life will take place in the spring.
Arrangements are in the care of the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
