Tracey Cornoyer

Tracey Dean Cornoyer, age 63, passed away at home on Sunday, November 26, 2023, surrounded by his loving wife and beloved dogs, Bella and Haley, after a year-long battle with acute myeloid leukemia.

Born on April 5, 1960 in Monroe, MI, it was there that he spent his childhood attending Monroe Public Schools and then graduating in 1978. In 1980, he met the love of his life, Mary Ellen Barronton through a mutual friend. February 19, 1988 the two got married in front of a magistrate in Erie, MI. With a lifelong career in manufacturing, he worked for Bay Corrugated Container in Monroe, MI, Coding Products in Kalkaska, MI, Saint Gobain Performance Plastics in Elk Rapids, MI and then medically retiring from Precision Edge Surgical Products in Boyne City, Mi, meeting many remarkable people along the way, in which some came to be life long friends.

Tracey was a very kind-hearted, loving man who wore his heart on his sleeve, especially for those whom he loved and cared about. An avid hunter and fisherman, he thoroughly enjoyed spending time in nature, whether going for a serene walk alone, or walking with his wife and dogs, he absolutely loved the woods and especially enjoyed feeding the birds as well. On weekends, you would find him at home, which was his happy place. It was there that he made many fond memories with his wife, family, and friends, sharing his passion for a wide genre of music, playing card games and board games, doing jigsaw puzzles, having cookouts, bonfires, and savoring a good beer.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Mary (Barronton) Cornoyer, brother Gary Cornoyer of Monroe, MI, sister Dawn (Cornoyer) Walker of Coldwater, MI, as well as many wonderful nieces, nephews, and dear friend Janelle (Allyn) Roush of Kalka-ska, MI, who was like a daughter.

He was preceded in death by his father Joseph Cornoyer, mother Bea (Reichert) Cornoyer, brother-in-law Jim Walker, sister-in-law Linda (Hoffer) Cornoyer, nephew Michael Cornoyer, and sister-in-law Jacki Barronton.
