Toni Eckhardt

Toni Jan Eckhardt, 53, of Central Lake, died Sunday, November 16, 2008 at home after fighting a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Toni was born May 8, 1955, in Manistee, the daughter of Devere and Eleanor (Klajda) Wall. In 1973 she graduated from Onekama High School. She attended Central Michigan University. Toni loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She was a gifted musician and loved playing the guitar and singing. Toni's world revolved around her children and grandchildren. On May 22, 1976 in Onekama, she married Mark Owen Eckhardt who survives. Also surviving are children Melanie (Bill Wiltse) Eckhardt of Central Lake, Mclain (Heather) Eckhardt of Central Lake, Kirk Eckhardt of Marietta, GA, and Kayla (Nick) Bogaert of Central Lake, grandchildren Logan, Phoenix, Tristin, Trever, Tommy, and Tyler, her parents Devere and Eleanor Wall of Onekama, brothers Daryl (Karen) Wall of Seminole, TX, Dana (Debbie) Wall of Shelby, and sister Nikki (Gary) Messer of Knox, IN, mother and father in-law Doyle and Marvel Eckhardt of Brethren, brother and sisters in-law Bill (Deb) Eckhardt of Bear Lake, Phyllis (Butch) Kittleson of Frankfort, and Marie (Dan) Clouse of Onekama, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Eleven a.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Judy Nichols will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 19, from 4 to 7 p.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Southern Cemetery, Central Lake Twp.
