Tommy Allan Evans, 47 of Kalkaska, died July 6, 2020 while enjoying one of his favorite past times, boating. He was born November 1, 1972 the son of Robert and Beverly Evans.
Tommy grew up in and graduated from Central Lake High School in 1990 and went to work for East Jordan Iron Works for almost 30 years. He enjoyed playing his guitar and tinkering around in his garage as a handyman. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding dirt bikes and motorcycles.
Tommy was a member of Brothers of the Coast and from there his love of boating grew. His beloved boat’s name was “Dock’N Around” and he was often found somewhere on his boat in Lake Michigan enjoying his best life.
Surviving are his parents Robert and Beverly Evans of Central Lake, his children Miranda McFarland of Flat Rock, Monica Evans of Traverse City, formerly of Central Lake, Quinten and Drayten Evans of Central Lake, his girlfriend Amy Wade, brother Jamie Evans of Central Lake, 1 nephew and 2 nieces. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 11, at 1 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Gary Bekkering officiating. Interment will follow in Dunsmore Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 am until the time of service. Memorial contributions can be given to the Central Lake Athletic Department, PO BOX 128 , Central Lake, MI 49622.
