Timothy Lee Wellnitz, age 70, passed away at his Torch River home surrounded by family and friends. He was born January 22, 1948 and sailed away May 2, 2018.
Tim grew up on the Mitchell Rd. farm in Blissfield, Michigan. Fishing, antiquing, and working on classic cars were passions he pursued life long.
A gifted mechanical and electrical technician, it was well known he could put his hand to anything and make it sing. Tim led Luhr’s Landing Marina on Torch River for 40 years and his reputation there for excellence will surely endure.
He is preceded in death by parents, Alton and Ethel (Beaverson); brother Dan; and sister Ann.
Tim is survived by daughter, Mattea (Johnson) Wellnitz and grand daughter Naya Johnson Wellnitz; step daughter, Nicolette (Bounting) Chaisson; and grand daughters McKenzie, Cassidy, and Layni Chaisson.
In accordance with Tim’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018; 1-3 p.m. at The Torch Riviera.

Volunteer fireman, the one you called when stranded on the lake, Tim was a trusted and respected mentor to many, touching more lives than probably even he knew.
