Thomas McDuffie

Thomas J. McDuffie, 51, of Rapid City, passed away on May 11, 2012. He was born in Charlevoix, October 11, 1960, and attended Bellaire High School. He later moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. Tom loved the outdoors and was an avid gardener. He also loved to read and would spend rainy days with a good book. Tom had many diverse interests and enjoyed researching new projects and ideas. He was a talented wood carver and enjoyed creating works of art. Tom is survived by his father, Edward McDuffie, his brother Michael (Tina) McDuffie, sister Trina (Don) Brown, son William (Sue) Brown, daughters Katy (Andrew) Brown, Sara McDuffie, son Tyler McDuffie, and seven grandchildren. Tom is also survived by his girlfriend Jennifer Youmans and her three children. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Kay McDuffie. Everyone who knew Tom knew him to be a kind and gentle person with a wonderfully wry sense of humor and a contagious grin. He will be greatly missed. Graveside services will be held Thurs. May 31, 2012 at 6 p.m. at Lakeview Cemetery, Bellaire with Fr. James Gardiner officiating. Arrangements have been handled by the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
