Therese Veronica (Droszcz) Skoczylas, 88, formerly of Cross Village and Cheboygan, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016, at her home in Charlevoix.
Therese was born January 26, 1928, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of John and Julia (Prezpeoski) Droszcz.
Therese married Andrew James Skoczylas in Chicago, Illinois on March 7, 1946, and they moved to Cross Village, Michigan where they lived for 40 years. They moved to Cheboygan, Michigan in 1986 where they lived for 10 years, and her husband passed away in 1995. She then moved to Charlevoix, Michigan where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Theresa Bernadette Heise and Clarence Heise until her death.
Therese was a member of the Cross Village School Board and drove the Cross Village School Bus for a number of years. She also worked for the A&P in Harbor Springs, Michigan.
Therese was preceded in death by her husband Andrew; son, Melvin; daughter-in-law, Patricia Louise (Keller) Skoczylas; her parents, John and Julia Droszcz; grandson, Baby Skoczylas; three sisters, Loretta (Droszcz) Cousens, Veronica Droszcz, Marcella Droszcz; and, her brother, John Droszcz.
Therese's survivors include her daughter, Theresa Bernadette (Clarence) Heise; her son, Andrew John Skoczylas; nine grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Therese also has four adopted great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be at 10:30AM followed by Mass at 11AM at Holy Cross Church Saturday 2 Apr 2016, in Cross Village. A luncheon will follow at the Church Hall following Mass.
Since Burial cannot be before the 1st of May, we suggest that Mass Donations can be made at the Church in lieu of flowers at this time.
