Theresa Grafenauer

Theresa (Terry) Mary Grafenauer, 64, of Central Lake, passed away Tues. Mar. 27, 2012. She was born into life on June 30, 1947 to Walter and Mabel (Cybart) Moczynski in Milwaukee, WI, where she graduated from Mercy High School in 1966. In 1980 she joined in love and marriage with Carl Grafenauer in Milwaukee, WI . Shortly after, they moved to Central Lake, MI and owned the 'Book Nook', a new & used bookstore. Theresa dedicated her career to Second Chance Body Armor before transferring into her most recent career with Armor Express. Along with her passion for her career, Theresa loved to garden, sew, and create beautiful crafts with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling. She is survived by her mother Mabel Moczynski, husband of 32 years Carl Grafenauer, brother Walter (Nancy) Moczynski of Boston, MA, children Mary (Andrew) Dantzler of Oostburg, WI, Carissa Rex of Dallas, TX, Jason (Laura) Grafenauer of Central Lake, MI and Andrew (Kim) Grafenauer of Madison, WI. She is also survived and adored by nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father Walter Moczynski, brother in-law Fredrick Grafenauer and numerous aunts and uncles. A very heartfelt "thank you" to her life sister, Vickie McKay. Vickie, along with her husband Bill opened their hearts to her for over 20 years and their home to her during her battle with cancer this past year. A special appreciation to Matt Davis and her Armor Express Family for all their support and kindness during her time with them. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 31, at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Valley Free Methodist Church, with Pastor Dave Scott officiating. A private family burial in Southern Cemetery will follow. The family will receive friends Friday, March 30, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Terry was instrumental in the design of the Canine Armor Vest and very devoted to raising money to fund them.
