Teddy Faries

Teddy W. Faries, 78, of Central Lake, died Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. He was born June 13, 1932, in Glen Alum, West Virginia, the son of Cecil and Katherine (Kennedy) Faries. Teddy retired from Ford Motor Company and moved to Central Lake in 1994. He was an avid Star Trek and Detroit Tigers fan, even enjoying the Tigers win Sunday. He also enjoyed golf and bowling. On March 21, 1954 in Flat Rock, he married Verna Miles who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was a daughter Deborah Lynn Faries, brother Lowell Faries, sister Doris Ryan, and his parents. Teddy is survived by his children William R. (Angel) Faries of Southgate, Theresa Rose (David) Wyatt of Newport, Barbara A. Patterson of Flat Rock, Katherine L. Faires of Central Lake, Alice Faries of Central Lake, Tammy S. (Pat) McIntyre of Duluth, MN, 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 3 brothers, 1 sister and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 4, at 2 p.m. at the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, Central Lake, with Pastor Janie Beasley officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church Building Fund. Arrangements have been handled by the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
