Susan Lynn Hoffman quietly passed away at home on June 2nd, surrounded by friends and family.
She was born on December 29, 1951, the daughter of Harold and Ruth Klaus of Forestville, MI. She grew up on the family farm with three sisters (Sally, Linda and Jackie) and two brothers (Lee and Tim). She graduated from Harbor Beach High School in 1970 and Western Michigan University in 1974, majoring in education. On May 8, 1976, she married Henry M. Hoffman and within a few years had two sons, Kyle and Tim. Throughout her life, family came first, a devoted daughter, loving wife and outstanding mother. She also enjoyed close relationships with a large extended family; and, many dear friends.
Her life-long interests and careers were homemaker and elementary education, which frequently intertwined. Also, frequently she volunteered for charitable work including Habitat, Hospice and anything school related. When time allowed, she loved travel, reading and spending time with friends, family and pets.
Gone, but never forgotten, to a better place where once again she can make snow angels and run like the wind.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 10th, at Cross of Christ Church in Petoskey. The schedule is 11:00 visitation, 12:00 service, followed by lunch.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are asked to Hospice of Little Traverse Bay.
Arrangements are being handled by Winchester Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Please sign her online guestbook at www.mortensenfuneralhomes.com.
