Susan Brown

Susan J. Brown,  85, of Charlevoix, passed away on November 9, 2017 at Boulder Park Terrace in Charlevoix.

Susan was born on November 29, 1931, in Petoskey, the daughter of Jay and Thelma (Milford) McMullen.

She was raised in Petoskey and graduated from Petoskey High School in 1950, then went on to Henry Ford Hospital nursing program and graduated in 1953.  As a Registered Nurse, she worked  for Dr. Myron Berman in Morton Grove, IL for 13 years.  Upon Dr. Berman’s retirement, she also moved on from nursing. Susan was a Mary Kay Consultant for many years.

She is survived by 5 sons, Thomas (Barbara) Brown of Chicago, IL, Robert (Melanie) Brown of Santa Fe, NM, William Brown of Petoskey, Richard (Stephanie) Brown of Charlevoix, John Brown of Petoskey, 5  grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a sister Lois Gill of Indian River, MI.

She was preceded in death by her brother Robert McMullen, her sister Joan Johnson, as well as her parents.

Visitation for family and friends will take place on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 4-6 p.m. at the Winchester Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.  A graveside service will be held Friday, November 17, at 10am at Greenwood Cemetery in Petoskey.
