Susan Brammer

Susan J. Brammer, 68, of East Jordan, died on Friday, October 30, 2009 at Charlevoix Area Hospital. She was born on April 29, 1941 in Monroe, Michigan, the daughter of William and Rose Miles. Susan was a resident of East Jordan since 2000 and a former resident of Mancelona. She was a long time member of the Light House Pentecostal Church. She was employed by the Foster Grandparent program with Catholic Human Services. She was a former employee of Eagle Trim in Kalkaska, Michigan. She also worked as a care giver. Susan enjoyed making quilts and working with children. She also enjoyed going to church and singing at the church. On August 26, 1960 in Flat Rock, she married John R. Brammer who preceded her in death. They separated after she moved to Mancelona in 1975. Surviving are John R. Brammer of Mancelona, Gayle S. Huffman of Mancelona, Betty R. Brammer of Central Lake, and Ronald T. Brammer of Mancelona 11 grand children, 15 great grand children, two sisters, Marian McClain of Taylor, and Alice (Dave) Brown of Cadillac. She had many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her sister Verna Faries, her brothers Paul, Clayton "Dick" and Dale Miles. Memorial service will take place on Saturday, November 7 at 2 p.m. at Central Lake Lighthouse Pentecostal Church. Pastor Jamie Beasly will officiate. There will not be a viewing of the body as per Susan Brammers wishes. There will be a luncheon following the service. Any donations will go to help cover the funeral costs and should be directed to Gayle Huffman. Arrangements have been handled by the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
