Susan Renee Bergmann, 60, of Charlevoix passed away on Thursday December 5, 2019. She was born on May 7, 1959 in Grand Rapids, MI, the daughter of Hubert and Lillian (Rand) Rich. At age two she moved with her family to Oxford hills, Maine and remained there until after graduating from high school. She then graduated from the Mercy school of Nursing in Portland Maine and moved to Alaska to work as a nurse. In Alaska Sue met the love of her life, Daniel Bergmann, and they married on July 9, 1984 at the Community Reformed Church in Charlevoix.
She worked for many years as a devoted nurse at the Charlevoix Hospital, and worked diligently for the local health department and as the director of the Charlevoix County Commission on Aging, as well as at Bethel prison and Ketchikan public health during her disparate years in Alaska . Her life was filled with many adventures. Sue loved the outdoors. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and mushrooming. She was a creative soul, blessing her friends and relatives with handmade gifts and canned goods as often as she could. She loved deeply and was warm and affectionate with everyone she cared about -which was most everyone. She had an amazing sense of humor, an infectious laugh and a fighting spirit and will to live that helped her survive long beyond anyone's expectations. Her life is an example of strength and unstifled love to us all. 1Peter 4:8
