Steven Adams

Steven L. Adams,  61, of Mancelona, passed away on February 3, 2019 at the Medilodge of Gaylord.

Steve was born on March 6, 1957, in Owosso, MI, the son of LeRoy and Maxine (Tunnicliff) Adams.

Steve was an outgoing, hard working, big talker who could make friends with just about anyone.  He volunteered much of his spare time to be involved with his children and their sporting events.  He enjoyed hosting many gatherings for the neighborhood kids at his house shooting hoops as well as other sports.

He was active in the lives of his children and grandchildren, always more than happy to do anything asked of him.

He would drop anything to help someone in need, especially his family.  If he needed to sell anything to help his loved ones, he would.

In his younger years, he played on a men’s slow pitch softball league in Kalkaska. He also enjoyed playing beach volleyball, basketball, football and many water sports.

On March 27, 1987, in Kalkaska, he married Kelly Weighman who survives.  Also surviving are 6 children, Steven and Sharon Fox, Seth (Destiny) Adams, Stephanie (Matthew) Nichols, Shantelle Navarre, Kayla Adams, 15 grandchildren, a step-brother Donald Kidd, and a  step-sister Deborah Boal.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Monte Shook, granddaughter Lyn Shook and a brother George Kidd.

Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Fr. Chet Collins officiating.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of mass at 1:00 p.m. at church.

A luncheon will take place in the church basement immediately following mass and all are welcome to attend.

Burial will take place in the spring at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery, Mancelona.

Memorial contributions may be made to his family.

Arrangements are being handled by the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
