Stephen McCondra

Stephen E. McCondra, 61 of Mancelona, joined our heavenly Father, Monday, April 13, 2015 at Munson Medical Center after a valiant battle with congestive heart failure. He was born November 25, 1953 in Detroit, the son of Donald and Joyce (Clegg) McCondra. Steve honorably served in the National Guard and was a proud member of the Forgotten Eagles of Michigan, Chapter 6. He was an avid Tigers fan and loved golfing with his son. Steve also enjoyed coaching Little League in Mancelona for many years. On April 18, 1994, he married the love of his life, Joni Conway, who survives. Also surviving is his son Donald James McCondra, his father Donald (Mary), his sisters Margo (Brian) Hammond, Sondra (Gary) Illikman, nephews Jason (Jasmine) Hammond, Nick (Jamie) Hammond, niece Crystal (Justin) Dixon, 2 great nieces, 6 great nephews and his canine companion Chili. He was preceded in death by his mother Joyce. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 3 p.m. at the Mancelona Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Ross Corne officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements have been handled by the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
