Stella Roote

STELLA J. ROOTE, 73, of Bellaire, died on June 5, 2010 at Munson Hospice House in Traverse City. Stella was born on September 13, 1936 in Royal Oak, Michigan. Stella was a resident of Bellaire since 1970, was employed at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility for 22 years and was a long time member of Hope Lutheran Church. Stella was a very generous person who enjoyed helping people. She had a love for traveling, camping and dancing. On February 14, 1954 in Royal Oak, she married Gayle E. Roote who survives. Also surviving are 4 sons, Timothy (Amy Jo) Roote of Rutherfordton, N.C., Terry Roote of Torch River, Lawrence (Catherine) Roote of Bellaire, Steven Roote of Bellaire, 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 sisters, Eleanor Walton, Ruth Bora and Nancy Hurst. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in Bellaire. Pastor Wade M. Seaver will officiate. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bellaire. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
