Stanley R. Kimmel, 80, of Bellaire, passed away on June 20, 2022 at The Brook Assisted Living in Gaylord.
He was born on January 18, 1942, in Portland, MI, the son of Robert and Dorothy (Pitch) Kimmel.
Stan worked at the GM Fisher Body Plant in Lansing for many years prior to retiring in 2003. Upon retirement, he moved to Bellaire and became an active member of several organizations. He was involved with the Central Lake Lions Club, the Bellaire Community United Methodist Church as well as the Antrim County Food Pantry.
Stan loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. He was a longtime member of the NRA, Ducks Unlimited, and Pheasants Forever.
On August 26, 1961, in Grand Ledge, MI, he married Suzanne K. Slee who survives.
Also surviving are two children, Douglas (Michelle) Kimmel of Gaylord, MI, Amy Wolcott (Cody Rose) of Grand Rapids, MI, 4 grandchildren, Lisa (Andrew) Barna of Charlotte, MI, Jordan Wolcott of Ionia, MI, Matthew (Stephanie) Kimmel of Gaylord, Jenna (Dennis) Sargeant of Ionia, MI, 3 great-grandchildren, Oakley Sargeant, Ryker Sargeant, Jonah Wolcott, and a sister Patricia Hearld of Eaton Rapids, MI.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Deborah Kimmel, 2 brothers, Richard and Harold Kimmel and his parents.
Funeral services will take place on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bellaire Community United Methodist Church with Pastor Tom Ash officiating.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services at the church.
Burial will take place at the Portland City Cemetery, Portland, MI on Friday, June 24th at 10 a.m.

Arrangements are being handled by the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
