Sonia Dorst

Sonia M. Dorst, age 44 of Charlevoix passed away on April 15, 2017 at Hiland Cottage in Petoskey.

Sonia was born on February 20, 1973 in Toledo, OH, the daughter of Michael Provo and Debora Tebeau.

Sonia earned her double major in Criminology and Psychology from The Ohio State University. She resided in Charlevoix for the past 11 years where she was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church as well as the girls JV softball and Cheerleading coach for Charlevoix Schools. She enjoyed spending her time with her family and was a very loving and dedicated mother.

On September 21, 1996 in Columbus, OH Sonia married David Dorst who survives. Also surviving are her children, Krista Dorst, Kylie Dorst, Jacob Dorst all of Charlevoix; mother, Debora (Ron) Tebeau of Wayne, OH; father, Michael (Pam) Provo of Port Clinton, OH, maternal grandmother Margaret Mockensturm; maternal step grandmother, Audria Tebeau of Vickery, OH; brother, Ryan (Laura) Provo of Roxboro, NC; half sister, Danielle Tebeau of Wayne, OH; step sister, Alicia Tebeau of Wauseon, OH; step brothers, Sean (Shelly) Tebeau of Kent, OH, Eric (Autumn) McKillips of Buckeye, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Robert and Nancy Provo.

Services will take place on Thursday April 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Charlevoix with Fr. John Paul Bashe officiating.
