BELLAIRE - Shirley Marie (McGrath) Niepoth, 83, of Bellaire, passed away July 14, 2010 at Meadowbrook Medical Care Facility. She was born in Detroit on November 13, 1926, the daughter of the late Michael and Agnes (Brabnec) McGrath. On Sept. 6, 1947, in Detroit, she married the late Edward H. Niepoth, Sr. She was preceded in death by her siblings, William (Greg) McGrath, Mary Joyce Schwanitz, James (Jack) McGrath, Thomas McGrath, and Ann Grayot, Shirley graduated from St. Gregory High School of Detroit in 1946. The family lived in Detroit and Farmington prior to moving their family to Bellaire to establish E.H. Niepoth Plumbing and Heating in 1970. Shirley was active with St. Luke Catholic Church, Bellaire Public Library, The Baby Pantry, Members of Hope Lutheran Quilting Group and Bellaire Literary Club. She is survived by 13 children, Donald (Betsy) Niepoth, Megs (David) Hughes, Suzanne (Robert) Bremer, Mary (Tim) Shafer, Patricia (Alan) Ashworth, Carol (John) McDonald, Joseph (Tammy) Niepoth, Christine (Peter) Kiewit, Edward (Patty) Niepoth, Jr., Anne (James) Bodnar, George (Christine) Niepoth, James (Lori) Niepoth and Ruth (Bradman) Taylor; 30 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brother, James (Dorothy) McGrath and sister-in-law, Elizabeth McGrath. Visitation will be held at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Bellaire Friday, July 16th at 2 pm-4 pm and 6 pm-8 pm with a Rosary at 8 pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. James Gardiner at St. Luke's on Saturday, July 17th at 11 am. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Donations can be made to Bellaire Public Library, P.O.
