Sheryl Louise Nicholls

Sheryl Louise Nicholls, born on October 10th, 1956, passed away peacefully on March 20th, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and strength. She was a devoted mother, sister, and grandmother, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Sheryl is survived by her brother, Paul; her sister, Susan; her children, Madeline and Michael Phillip, and his wife, Jodi; her beloved grandchildren, Zachary, Jaxson, Mason, and Karson; and her long time partner, Melvin “Mac” Walgamott. She was a source of love and inspiration to her family, and her memory will be cherished by all who were touched by her kindness and determination.

A woman of many talents, Sheryl was passionate about reading, sewing, and playing the piano. She often found joy in creating beautiful things with her hands, whether it was sewing clothes and toys for her loved ones or simply enjoying the solace of a good book. Her talent for making life more beautiful was evident in everything she did. Her stubborn streak, though, was one of her most defining qualities, showing her unwavering determination to live life on her own terms and always stand strong for her loved ones.

Sheryl also had a deep connection with the night sky. She would often spend time marveling at its beauty, finding peace in the vastness and the small sense of forever that it offered. The stars reminded her of life's mysteries and how even in the most fleeting moments, there was something timeless to hold onto. This sense of wonder and awe was something she shared with those around her, often telling people “Go outside right now and look at the moon!” leaving a lasting impression of the beauty and eternity she saw in the world.

Sheryl's presence in the lives of those she loved will never be forgotten. Her legacy of warmth, creativity, and love will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A private celebration of life will be held for close family and friends in the near future.

Arrangements are in the care of the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Please sign her online guestbook at www.mortensenfuneralhomes.com.
