Shelly Paramo

Shelly Dale Paramo, 59, of Charlevoix, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2019.  She was born on December 13, 1959 in Mt. Clemens, MI, the daughter of Dale and Donis (Staley) Anderson.

After graduating high school, Shelly went on to attend college at Oakland University, where she played on the tennis team as well.  She also met her future husband there, Glenn Paramo.  They wed on June 4, 1994 in Charlevoix, MI.  They planted their roots together in Charlevoix, raising three daughters in the process.  Shelly worked at Nanny’s Restaurant for many years, but those who worked with her may remember her by her nickname, “Zoom”.  She also worked at her husband’s dental office in town, Charlevoix Family Dentistry.

The most important part of Shelly’s life was her family, whom she would do anything for.  She was an extremely active person who enjoyed playing tennis, volleyball, and badminton.  She also enjoyed spending time on the dock or on the beach, and watching her girls compete in sporting events.  She will be remembered as a selfless woman of integrity who would do anything for anybody.

Shelly is survived by her husband, Glenn Paramo; three daughters, Katharine, Jessica, and Abagail; two sisters, Susan Barnard of Charlevoix and Sharon Anderson of Petoskey; and her beloved golden retrievers, Louie and Stanley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Donis Anderson.

A memorial service will take place at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the Community Reformed Church, 100 Oak St., Charlevoix, MI 49720 with Pastor Chip Sauer officiating.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service.
