Shelly Gibbons

Shelly Ann Hinds Gibbons, 40, of Mancelona, passed away January 7, 2014 at her home. She was born July 2, 1973 in Traverse City to the daughter of Dick and Storm Hinds. She is survived by her husband, David Gibbons; her loving son, Jacob Hinds; parents, Dick and Storm Hinds; brother, Steven (Linda) all of Mancelona; sister, Lesa (Ryan) Eschedor of Bradenton, FL; special niece and nephews, Kaytlin Hinds, Steven Orange Hinds II, Lucas, Tanner, Riley and Jaxon Eschedor. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; and her son Jacob's infant twin brother, Jeremiah Joseph. Shelly graduated from Mancelona High School in 1991. She attended Mancelona Free Methodist Church for many years and enjoyed singing at Church. She had a passion for music as she was the lead singer in 'Ruby and The King Bees.' The love of her life and her pride and joy was her son, Jacob. She loved her niece and nephews. Maybe you received a smile or one of her warm hugs but I'm sure her parting words to you that day was probably 'I love you.' Shelly taught us a lesson that everyone needs to learn. Say your 'I love yous.' Don't wait for tomorrow because it may never come. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at the Mancelona Free Methodist Church. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family through Mortensen Funeral Homes, PO Box 307, Mancelona MI 49659.
