Sharron Marie (Agosa) Schneider, 72 of Rapid City, an elder of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians, passed away on October 18, 2017 at her home with her family by her side.

Sharron was born on January 16, 1945 in Lansing, MI the daughter of Agnes and Alec Agosa. Sharron went from foster father Emil Badovinac to Grand Rapids, Sharron graduated from Villa Marie in Grand Rapids, MI. She then went to Wisconsin to live wither her mother in Cedarburg, WI. It was a that time she met her soon to be husband. On June 13, 1964 Sharron married Delbert Schneider. They had 4 children, Marie (Darwin) Tackes, Shawn (Scott) Koeferl, Jody (Lisa) Schneider, Danna Klumb, 10 grandchildren, and 1 angel, 3 great granddaughters and 1 great grandson on the way.

When she lived in Wisconsin she enjoyed gardening, traveling the United States, Coast to Coast, Canada, Mexico, Niagara Falls, visiting casinos when traveling even traveling to Australia with Delbert for their 25th anniversary. They spent summers with their Australian friends. Sharron was involved in women and co-ed pool and dart leagues. She collected frogs, Barbie Dolls, Merry Moos Cow, solar flowers, Avon decanters and was a dealer, M & M’s, driver of the M&M Car, Native American Dolls, Hallmark Christmas Ornaments, As Seen On TV, Precious Moments, Cocktail Sticks, rocks from places she traveled, bird feeders and lawn ornaments. She enjoyed shopping year-round for presents for the grandkids. Sharron was the president, secretary and editor of the Milwaukee Jim Beam Club even after moving. She also got an award from the state of Wisconsin for Beam of the year and an award from the International Jim Beam Clubs where she received a gold fox, only 3 to 6 are given out each year for the entire world. She worked with the Boy and Girl Scouts for many years and opened her home for meetings and special events. She loved animals, especially Cleo, her basset hound. Sharron and Delbert moved to Michigan after Delbert retired from Mercury Marine and she took her love of the Green Bay Packers with her.

Sharron got a lot on tribal land in Antrim County, moving a lot of treasures from Wisconsin to Michigan. Sharron got a fishing buddy in Michigan, grandson Jacey. Sharron was involved in the Grand Traverse Elders, served on many of the board offices, gave many prizes for bingo and so much more. Sharron was involved in the Kewadin Indian Mission and served as an officer of the board. She gave the church many items of need.

Sharron’s mother, father and brother preceded her in death.

Visitation will take place on Monday, October 23, 2017 from 10a.m. until 2p.m. with a funeral service starting at 2p.m. at the Kewadin Indian Mission Church Tabernacle.    Graveside services will be on Tuesday, October 24, 1 p.m. at the St. Kateri Cemetery, Peshawbestown.   Arrangements are being handled by the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
