Sara Jean Bruce

Sara Jean Bruce,  35,  of Central Lake, passed away on September 21, 2023.

   Sara was born on November 15, 1987, in Pontiac, MI, the daughter of Robert and Cynthia (Giles) Bruce.

   A true "Redneck Woman who loved the outdoors, especially campfires and star gazing.  She also played board games, doing beauty days with her nieces,  watching scary movies, country music and especially having dinners with all her favorites, crab legs, salmon and ribs.

   But most of all she loved her sons.   Not only raising them, but her proudest moments were coaching them in sports.  

   She is survived by 2 sons, Devin and Colton Crossman of Central Lake, her parents,  "Rocket" Rob and Cindy Bruce of Central Lake, brother R.J. Bruce of Williamsburg, MI, Fiance Justin McDade of Central Lake, maternal grandmother Carol Woodin of Cheboygan, MI, 2 maternal grandfathers, Clint (Sally) Giles of Lansing, MI, Bob Coone of Gladwin, MI, paternal grandparents, Don and Barb Bruce AKA "Grandma and Grandpa Bubs"  of Central Lake, 4 nieces, Jadine McCullough, Sienna McDaniel, Lindsey Batten, Brianna Batten, bonus grandmother Deanna Anzell of Central Lake, bonus father-in-law Craig (Maggy) McDade of Kalkaska, bonus mother-in-law Mary Runk of Central Lake, several aunts, uncles, many cousins and too many friends to mention.

   Passing on before her were a sister Misty Giles and grandfather Doug Woodin.

   Viewing will be on Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 2-4 p.m. with a Celebration of Life beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Ken Kruse officiating.  At the conclusion of the service, the celebration will continue at the Lions Pavilion at Thurston Park.

   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cindy Bruce, P.O. Box 392, Central Lake, MI,  49622.  Donations will be going towards a trust set up for "Sara's Boys".
