Sara Beck

Sara M. Beck, 92, of East Jordan died at Boulder Park Terrace in Charlevoix on Monday, July 22, 2013.

She was born May 27, 1921 in Banks Township, the daughter of John and Kate (DeVries) Berens.

On August 26, 1955 she married David Beck in Charlevoix. They lived in Atwood for many years, moving to East Jordan in 1970. David died in 2001.

Sara enjoyed spending time with her family, homemaking, knitting, crocheting and gardening - especially growing rhubarb, tomatoes, and blueberries. She also enjoyed her pet cats and dogs.

Surviving are her daughter Charlotte (Barry) Browe of Boyne City; grandchildren Jeremy, Crystal, Alanna, and Lara; and great-grandchildren Hailey, Ashlin, Ava, Addison, and Kade. Besides her husband David she was preceded in death by a son Albert John Beck in 1960.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Atwood Cemetery with the Rev. Celia M. Hastings officiating.
