Samuel Robb MacLeod, 68, of Norwood, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at his home. He was born September 19, 1947, in Detroit to Donald Edward Bain and Wilda Marie (Green) MacLeod. He graduated from Pershing High School in 1965. Sam served in the US Air Force during the late 1960's in the Vietnam War.

Sam married Norma Lea Smith and they made their home in Grand Blanc. He worked for General Motors, and earned a BA from University of Michigan-Flint. After earning his Bachelor's degree, he worked in engineering in the automotive supply business.

In 2006, he and Norma made their home in Norwood. Sam was a golfer, an avid boater, and was a founding member of the Charlevoix Elks Club. In retirement, he worked as a greenskeeper at the Charlevoix Municipal Golf Course.

Sam is survived by his wife, Norma; son, Michael Edward (Jessica) MacLeod of Dearborn; daughter, Lisa Ann (Michael) Snyder of Lakeview; grandchildren, Bailey James and Emily Ann Snyder; sister, Sande Bain MacLeod and her husband, Brian Knauff.

Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Friday, September 25, at the Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix. Funeral will be 3 pm, Saturday, September 26, at the Norwood United Methodist Church. Pastor Craig Pahl will officiate. Burial will follow at the Norwood Lakeside Cemetery where military honors will be presented by the Charlevoix Veterans.

Sam's family is grateful to those who have donated blood, as their gift had helped to extend Sam's life.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Charlevoix Area Hospital Infusion Center.
