Ruth Ann Glaser

Ruth Glaser, 70, of Mancelona, Michigan, passed away peacefully from surgical complications on December 6th, 2020.

Visitation will be from 12pm to 2pm on Friday, December 11th at Mortensen’s Funeral Home, Mancelona.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Friday, December 11th at Mortensen’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Helena Township Cemetery, Alden, Michigan. Arrangements are by Mortensen’s Funeral Home of Mancelona. COVID-19 precautions are mandatory. Masks and social distancing is required.

Ruth was born in Traverse City Michigan to Lionel and Mary Crandall on June 22, 1950.  She went to school at Mancelona High School.  She married James (Jim) Glaser in September 28, 1968 at the Mancelona United Methodist Church. She worked at Bendix Aerospace of Boyne City for approximately nine years. Ruth enjoyed crafting as a hobby and gifted many ceramics and crocheted blankets to her friends and family. She had a passion for pancakes and made sure Karo syrup was always on hand! Her home was the place for all holidays, open for all her children and grandchildren, and filled with memories of her family. Ruth was the perfect combination of homestyle warmth and quick-witted sass. Ruth is best remembered for her exceptional baking skills and personalized desserts during the holidays.

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband James (Jim) Glaser and brother John Crandall.

Ruth is survived by her sons Michael, David, and Adam, her daughters-in-law Jamie and Morgan, her siblings Della, Nora, and Vernon, her grandchildren Donovan, Audrey, Madison, Teryn, James, and Walter, and her great-grandson Bentley.

The family of Ruth wishes to extend our sincere thanks to her friends and family who supported her through her last months. She appreciated every call, text, and photo sent to her in well wishes.
