Ruth Moore

Ruth E. Moore, 79, of Bellaire, died Thursday, February 18, 2010, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. She was born October 23, 1930, in Kalkaska County, the daughter of Benjamin and Ruth (Pitman) DePeel. Ruth resided in Bellaire for many years. Her pride and joy came in spending time with her grandchildren. Ruth enjoyed going to garage sales, shopping, crocheting, and baking. She also enjoyed gardening, flowers and riding her Gator. Ruth baked many pies for the Wartz Warriors with Special Olympics over the years. On October 30, 1946, in Kalkaska, Ruth married Jesse Moore who preceded her in death. She is survived by her children Lydia Saddison of Mancelona, Daniel (Val) Moore of Alba, Kathryn Moore of Elmira, John (Alvareta) of Bellaire, Dorothy (Edward) Potrafke of Kewadin and Timothy (Joan) Moore of Mancelona. She is also survived by many grandchildren, many great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and one sister Elsie Merkle of Cadillac. Funeral services will be held Sunday, Feb. 21, at Two p.m. at the Bellaire Wesleyan Church with Pastor Steve Eccles officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, Feb. 20, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Interment will be this spring in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona.
