Ruth Irene Draper

Ruth Irene Draper, 95, of Bellaire, passed away January 15, 2023. She was born on June 18, 1927, in Garfield Township, the daughter of Glenn and Lyla (Laidlaw) Treece.

Ruth enjoyed spending time with her grandkids. When the grandkids went to her house, they always knew the cookie jar would be full. She was an active member of the Methodist Church and would eventually go on to retire from DURA in Mancelona.

On April 25, 1945, in Traverse City, Ruth married James L Draper.

Surviving her in death are 5 children, Sonya (Bill) Little of TN, James “Len” (Nan) Draper of Bellaire, Christine (Dave) Endres of Traverse City, Steven (Christine) Draper of Bellaire, Lisa Draper of Bellaire, 2 brothers, James (Pat) Treece of Traverse City, Larry (the late Ona) Treece of Birmingham, AL, 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband James Draper of 77 years.

Graveside services will take place on Wednesday, January 25, at 2 pm, at the Lakeview Cemetery, Bellaire. Pastor Dan Phillips will officiate. Please join the family in a remembrance luncheon celebration following the graveside service at the Methodist Church in Bellaire.
