Ruth E. Bass, 83, of Central Lake, passed away on June 22, 2023.
She was born on November 15, 1939, in South Arm Township, MI, the daughter of Daniel and Bessie (Howard) Hosler.
Ruth was an avid Detroit Tiger baseball fan and loved all kinds of baseball especially Little League.
She also enjoyed fishing and was on a Bass fishing league in Georgia for several years.
Surviving are 4 children, Lorna L. Carpenter of Fort Walton, FL, Ronald L. Kent of LaGrange, GA, Carol L. (Steve) Johnson of LaGrange, GA, and Gerald L. Kent Jr. (Lissa) of Central Lake. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, Nicole, Sarah, Tonya, Justin, Lloyd, Laura, Melissa, 12 great-grandchildren, Evan, Paeton, Andrew, Halia, Sabastian, Randy, Anthony, Evan, Sarah, Nathan, Curzon, Colton, 2 great-great grandchildren, Layla and Amora, 2 brothers, Clifford Chew, David Hosler, 2 sisters, Mary Lewis, and Susan Hague.
Preceding her in death were an infant son Daniel Kent, brothers, Ivan Chew, Herbert Chew, John Chew, George Hosler, Alfred Hosler, sister Nancy Waldorf, grandson Jimmie Carpenter Jr., son-in-law James Carpenter and her parents.
Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with visitation from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Lake Little League, 3540 Childs Lane, Central Lake, MI, 49622.
